In the latest step in a long-running legal saga, 23 of the 27 EU member states signed an agreement to terminate all intra-EU BITs.
The process will affect how quickly and easily a new UK–EU agreement – or set of services, aspects of intellectual property and foreign direct investment (FDI).

EU member states have agreed a treaty which will terminate any bilateral investment treaties (BITs) between individual member states once ratified.
