The Tjärnö Marine Laboratory is a marine science field station in Sweden. It is part of the University of Gothenburg and located on the island Tjärnö, Strömstad Municipality in the northern part of Bohuslän province. TML was founded as a field station for university education in marine biology in 1963.

The research station at Tjärnö is situated at the Koster fjord which in 2009 will be the first Swedish Marine National Park. The marine surroundings covers easy-to-reach low-impacted marine environments of a wide range of shallow and deep habitats, including deep cold-water coral reefs, all reached within 5-20 minutes from the research station.

The Centre integrates the research capacities of two very well established marine research stations and several research vessels.
